Alvotech today announced the appointment of Tanya Zharov as deputy chief executive officer in Iceland. Tanya's principal responsibilities will be oversight of Icelandic operations and administration, including the Reykjavik site leadership team, human resources, business operations, shared services and facilities. Tanya will also assist in the preparation of Alvotech for public listing, in partnership with the CEO and members of the corporate leadership team.
Tanya brings a wealth of experience to her new post, with a strong track record in innovation-driven global life sciences, business and finance. Prior to joining Alvotech, she was the deputy CEO and compliance officer at deCODE genetics, where she led the administrative team and assisted the CEO with many aspects of company operations, overseeing human resources and serving as compliance officer.
A lawyer by training, Tanya was a founding partner and deputy CEO of Audur Capital, an Icelandic securities firm, where her responsibilities spanned legal affairs, wealth management, corporate finance, private equity and capital markets. Prior to that, as corporate counsel at deCODE genetics, Tanya led the securities regulation and compliance team behind the first US IPO by an Icelandic company. Tanya is a specialist in US and global public markets law, regulation and best practice. Early in her career Tanya served as a tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Tanya‘s appointment is a logical step in Alvotech‘s journey, which has brought several new senior leaders to the team over the past year. Tanya‘s appointment also underscores the commitment of the company to our many associates based in Reykjavik, by establishing a senior leadership role focused on integrated site operations, business services, human resources and facilities management. Tanya is committed to the company‘s mission of enhancing people's lives by producing high quality biosimilars that help them to feel better and do more, and in consolidating Alvotech‘s position as a successful global industry leader.
